The usage of lamps
Salt lamps are intended for indoor use only. Salt crystals have high hygroscopic properties, i.e. their attract water molecules from the atmosphere, so that they should be used in dry rooms. If the humidity in the room increases, e.g. during rain, the lamp should be switched on. By heating the salt crystal by the bulb inside, the water molecules evaporate from the surface of the crystal..
Warning! If the lamp is to be stored in damp conditions for a longer time (e.g. in a garage, in the trunk of during rain, etc.), the lamp shall be secured with a tightly sealed foil bag.

Using lamps in rooms and offices
While using salt lamps in those places one shall pay attention to few rules. Firstly, if the lamp is damp, the water condensing on the surface of the crystal may drip onto the surface, on which the lamp is placed and this may cause the damage to such surface (e.g. discoloration or warping of the wooden surface of the furniture). Lampę należy ustawić w taki sposób, aby wyeliminować ryzyko spadnięcia lampy z wysokości. By placing a lamp on surfaces that may be damaged (e.g. antique furniture), one shall place additional surface protection under the lamp (such as a waterproof plastic napkin, cork stand etc.). Above all, one shall keep in mind that if the humidity increases the lamp shall be switched off. Secondly, if there are small children and pets in rooms where the salt lamps are located, one shall avoid placing lamps on the edges of the furniture and in such a way that the lamp's electrical wire will be out of the reach of a child. The lamp shall be placed in such a way that there is no risk of falling down.

Using lamps after a relaxing bath
Salt lamps may be used for improving the effect of relaxing baths, e.g. aromatherapeutic one, however, one shall follow the following rules: - the lamp shall be placed at least 2 meters from the bathtub, preferably on the floor or on a wooden stool. – the lamp should be on all the time – after the bath, the lamp shall be moved to a dry room (the lamp is not intended to be constantly used in a humid room) – it is not allowed to place the lamp on a bathtub or to close to it! – and avoid making the lamp wet! Do not switch the lamp on or off with wet hands! – do not use the lamp during steam baths and in a sauna!
One shall remember that each electrical device using during baths poses a potential threat to health or even life so one shall be extremely careful while using them.

Strong humidity of the lamp
JIf a lamp is in an excessively damp environment (visible water under a lamp), it is necessary to unplug itimmediately and pull out the electrical element (see – light bulb replacement), and check if it is completely dry. If the electrical element is not completely dry, it should be put in a warm place, until it is dry. A salt crystal should be wiped with a dry cotton cloth as far aspossible, especially paying attention to the cavity, in which the electrical element should be placed. If electrical element and salt crystal are completely dry, a lamp should be reassembled and turned on for a few hours.

Cleaning the lamp
When a lamp is unplugged, it can be cleaned with a damp brush or cloth, and dried by turning on a lamp for a few hours. When the electrical element is taken out, it is also possible to wash a lamp under running water; however, a cavity, in which the electrical element is placed, should not get wet. After cleaning, a salt crystal should be wiped with a dry cotton cloth as far as possible, and reassembled and turned on for a few hours.

Light bulb replacement
WARNING!!! BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY ACTIVITIES LISTED BELOW, UNPLUG LAMP FROM POWER SOURCE!

  1. Take off a frame and pry off a metal base of a spring holding a frame using a sharp tool.
  2. When a frame and a spring are taken out from a salt lump, replace a light bulb.
  3. Place a frame and a spring back in the salt lump.
  4. Put a lamp in a working position and plug it to power source.
  5. If a lamp does not work after a bulb replacement, contact a vendor.
  6. In case of damaging a connecting cable, it is possible to replace it only in the technical service through the lamp vendor.

Pets
Sometimes pets (especially dogs) instinctively lick a lamp to supplement minerals in their bodies. A salt lamp is not intended for consumption; however, it consists of 100% natural salt, and therefore it is not harmful to pets.

Technical data:
Electrical salt lamp; voltage 220-230V, bulb: E14 – max. 40W

Handling used portable frames (standard and desk lamps)
Used electrical devices (standard and desk lamps) are secondary raw materials – they cannot be disposed of with normal household waste. Pursuant to the WEEE Directive (Directive 2002/96/EC) applying in EU to waste electrical and electronic equipment, such equipment should be delivered to the collection point for used equipment, e.g. equipment vendor or other unit collecting this type of equipment. The aforementioned obligations arise from the Act of 29 July 2005 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Journal of Laws, No. 180, Item 1495) and are aimed at ensuring an adequate level of collecting and recycling of waste equipment and, as a result, contributing to the protection of environment.
